2026 tki coaching course
In the current state of goalkeeper coaching in our country, we have little to no specific courses or licenses that goalkeeper coaches can pursue to advance their knowledge of the game and coaching. We are all left to quarterback our own development, which can be especially difficult when you have one eye on getting results and the other eye on recruiting. We want to help goalkeeper coaches establish their own methods and design more effective practice sessions that will ultimately help facilitate developing skill.
This course will be a comprehensive educational resource available to goalkeeper coaches who want to understand the game more deeply, apply the principles to their session design, and ultimately aid in the development of the goalkeepers they work alongside. This four month course will establish principles of play for the goalkeeper position that help guide goalkeepers to more effective decision making in games, help coaches to learn the principles of session design decision that underpin skill acquisition, identify common errors in each task of the gk and develop problems to promote adjustment, and form a framework for WHAT coaches trying to develop and HOW to design an environment that promotes those skills.
We would like to create a space for all of us to collaborate, learn, and grow together. Jill Loyden will be hosting eight one-hour zoom sessions each month from April to July to intentionally aid in goalkeeper coaching development.
SERIES Objectives
